Faith leaders make HISTORIC 96-mile pilgrimage to protest ‘EXTREME CONDITIONS’ in ICE detention

A historic 96-mile march is underway, as faith leaders make the multi-day journey from the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in the Mojave Desert, to the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles. The distance is the point, says organizer Rev. Jennifer Gutierrez, who says the long pilgrimage serves to remind detainees “they are not isolated from their human community.” Rev. Canon Jaime Edwards-Acton adds that after the walk, the faith community’s next job is making sure “everyone gets to vote.” MS NOW: My Source for News, Opinion, and the World. » Subscribe to MS NOW:    / @msnow   Become an MS NOW Member!
