BATTU NRUTYA — The Soul of Odissi Some performances are more than just dance, they are a celebration of heritage, discipline, devotion, and artistic expression. It was a truly proud and memorable moment for me to present Battu Nrutya at the Nrutyameba Jayte Festival in Bhubaneswar. With deep respect, gratitude, and pranam to my Guru sadhna Maam. Battu Nrutya is one of the most striking and technically demanding items in the Odissi repertoire. Traditionally associated with Lord Batuka Bhairava, it draws inspiration from the sculptural forms of temples and celebrates the beauty of rhythm, geometry, balance, and movement. To stand on stage and present this magnificent dance form at a festival in Bhubaneswar is an honour I will always cherish. Proud to be a student of this timeless tradition. Proud to dance Odissi.
