I climbed the Aburi Hills in Ghana's Eastern Region and it wasn't the easy walk I expected. This video follows the full climb, from a drone view of the valley all the way up to Peduase Lodge, a presidential retreat built in 1959 by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first president. Along the way, you'll see the rockfall protection netting covering parts of the hillside, a real reminder of the erosion risks this road has faced over the years, and at the top, a piece of history most people never expect to find on a hiking trail.
