How to make a double sided veneer using a texture mat

Step 1: I mixed small pieces of bright orange, yellow, fuchsia, and green Sculpey clay. I rolled and compressed them all into a vibrant cane. Step 2: I sliced the cane and laid the pieces side-by-side to form a colorful slab. I rolled it out until it was about 3mm thick. Step 3: I rolled out Sculpey lavender clay super thin (around 1mm) and gently placed it over the slab, making sure there were no air bubbles. I passed the slab through the pasta machine to reduce the thickness a bit. Step 4: I dusted the surface with cornstarch (my little trick for easy release!) and pressed the texture mat firmly into the clay. Step 5: This is the delicate part! Using a sharp, flexible blade, I carefully cut away the raised areas of the texture. Take your time and trust the process. Slow, deliberate cuts will make the best results. After you are happy with how it looks, it’s time to cut it and bake it. I applied some sandpaper texture before cutting them. I loved experimenting with this technique and I really love the result!
