Wait a Minute! - TUM BOY is here Campus Garching The Garching campus north of Munich forms the scientific and technical centre of the TUM. With around 20,000 students at various TUM schools and faculties, the campus is the largest of all TUM locations. Several research centres and the TUM Graduate School also ensure cutting-edge interdisciplinary research on campus. The university town of Garching can be reached quickly from the centre of Munich with the underground line U6 or via the motorway. The Garching campus was built around the first research reactor in Munich (FRM I), which opened in 1957.
