Color Management for People Who Just Want to Edit

Working with footage from different cameras shouldn’t mean spending half your edit wondering why none of the colors match. In this video, Grant Kay for Boris FX shows how color management in Vegas Pro can take care of a lot of that work for you, whether you’re mixing Rec.709, S-Log, V-Log, L-Log, or footage from a range of different cameras and devices. Vegas Pro can automatically recognise correctly tagged media and apply the right color transforms for you. And when a file isn’t tagged properly, a few manual adjustments are usually all it takes to get things looking right again. No need to become a color scientist before lunch. The goal is simple: get footage from different cameras looking consistent, give yourself a solid starting point for grading, and spend more time editing instead of chasing color problems around the timeline.
