Right after +2, in the early 2000s, he left Nepal for Texas to build a life and chase bigger dreams. Two decades later, his company is building the bridges that connect terminal gates at DFW Airport.
Anup Tamrakar didn’t inherit an empire. He started by working at his father’s engineering practice in Nepal, tracing blueprints and even scrubbing bathrooms, long before “CEO” was ever part of the picture. Today, he leads Urban Infraconstruction LLC, a 400-person heavy civil construction company behind major Texas infrastructure like airport bridges, transit lines, and municipal water systems.
Key Milestones:
-Scaled to ~400 employees, earning spots on the Inc. 5000 list and recognition as an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Southwest Finalist.
-Founded the Amaalya SK Foundation, committing to fund foundational education for 1 million children in Nepal by 2035.
This isn’t another polished immigrant success story. It’s a conversation about what it really takes to build something at scale with the difficult decisions, risks, setbacks, and responsibility.
