Molly Malone Dubliners

I use this for my guitar version. The song has been with me throughout my life. I learnt it at school in the 60s (!), and it electrified me right from the start, especially because of the line: “I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone”. It resonated so deeply with my feelings and experiences at the time that I was drawn to this song, and that attraction has lasted to this day. Now I’ve learnt that it’s the ‘national anthem’ of Dublin and is still played in the pubs there, as my Irish friend Malachy in Richelieu tells me. Dies nutze ich für meine Version auf der Gitarre. Das Lied begleitet mich durch meinLeben. In der Schule in den 60ern gelernt (!), hat es mich von Anfang an elektrisiert, vor allem wg der Zeile: "I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone". Dies entsprach so meinen Gefühlen und Erfahrungen damals, dass es mich zu diesem Lied hinzog, was bis heute währt. Jetzt erfahre ich, dass es die "Nationalhymne" von Dublin ist und noch immer in den Pubs dort gepielt wird, wie mir mein irischer Freund Malachy in Richelieu erzählt.
