10 Hitmen Even Mob Bosses Were Afraid Of

#TrueCrime #MafiaHistory #Mob Did you know there were killers so violent, so unstable and so prolific that even the American Mafia — an organization built on murder — was afraid of them? One freelance gunman murdered his own best friend for a paycheck. Another bit off a man's face in a bar. A Chicago loan shark tortured his victims so sadistically that his own bosses eventually had him killed. And the man at No. 1 put more than 100 men in the ground in 9 years of contract work — and was never once caught in the act. These weren't wild street thugs. They were professionals: Murder Incorporated assassins, Chicago Outfit enforcers, made men and freelancers whose body counts and cruelty crossed the line even organized crime tried to hold. This is a countdown of the 10 hitmen even the mob feared — who they were, who they killed, and what finally stopped each one. ⏱ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 — No. 10 Elmer "Trigger" Burke 5:07 — No. 9 Gregory "Grim Reaper" Scarpa 9:39 — No. 8 Joe "Animal" Barboza 14:39 — No. 7 Joseph "Mad Dog" Sullivan 18:59 — No. 6 Tommy "Karate" Pitera 23:42 — No. 5 Harry "the Hook" Aleman 28:26 — No. 4 Frank "German" Schweihs 32:54 — No. 3 Sam "Mad Sam" DeStefano 37:41 — No. 2 Harold "Kayo" Konigsberg 42:59 — No. 1 "Pittsburgh Phil" Strauss 🔔 Subscribe for more forgotten history and true crime stories that never made it into your school textbook.
