ME, MYSELF AND I • BRUISED ECHO • Dark Melodic Progressive House

Who is the “I” that still owns a choice when the person looking back has changed? ME, MYSELF AND I by BRUISED ECHO is a 125 BPM dark melodic progressive house track about personal identity, memory, responsibility and the distance between who we were and who we are. “I keep saying ‘I’ like the word stayed still.” It didn’t. The choice remains fixed in history. The self interpreting it does not. ME • the self other people can see. MYSELF • the private self carrying memory. I • the self that still signs the original choice. SAME NAME. DIFFERENT TESTIMONY. This is one continuing person, not three characters. The present self knows the ending; the past self did not. The person judging came later. Hindsight has more evidence. It does not automatically have more moral authority. One three note melodic identity returns through three electronic timbres: a dry glass strike, a lower chorused shadow and a higher delayed digital reflection. A deeply hoarse male low baritone meets rolling analogue bass, controlled 909 pressure and moments of true silence. The motif returns with the same notes, but altered weight and memory. HUMAN EVENT → ELECTRONIC ECHO. The visualiser presents three temporal faces connected by one luminous filament. They are not three people. They are one life viewed from different positions. The final drop does not resolve the argument. No clean witness. No final version. No agreement. Still here. THE CHOICE STAYED PUT. I DIDN’T. THE FIRST THREE BRUISED ECHO TRACKS 01 • WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU AFRAID OF? • Fear 02 • ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY • Choice and consequence 03 • ME, MYSELF AND I • Identity and responsibility BRUISED ECHO = WHAT REMAINS AFTER IMPACT. When you judge a choice made by your past self, who exactly is doing the judging?
