My second Broken Binding order — and this one nearly didn't happen. I missed the first printing of The Hyperion Cantos entirely and was gutted about it. The moment they announced a third printing of Hyperion and a second printing of books two through four, I jumped immediately. The Hyperion Cantos is a four-book epic science fiction series by Dan Simmons, first published in 1989. The first book won the Hugo Award and is widely considered one of the greatest science fiction novels ever written. Dan Simmons passed away in February 2026 at the age of 77. In this video I unbox all four books — Hyperion, The Fall of Hyperion, Endymion, and The Rise of Endymion — and share my first impressions of the Broken Binding special editions.
