Its closest linguistic kins are Dolgan, Khakas and Tuvan. Yakut's more famous relatives are Turkish, Kazakh, Crimean Tatar, Uzbek, Tatar, Uyghur, Chuvash and other Turkic languages including extinct Khazar, Hunnic, Avar, old Bulgarian. There is a clear genetic link between Yakut and Finnish peoples (both are dominated by haplogroup N). Yakut has been also influenced by Mongolian and Tungusic languages.
