Take a detailed construction tour of this 1 Kanal full-basement house in DHA Phase 4 Islamabad, completely designed and developed by Shelters Engineering Services. This is a complete Design & Build residential project where our team handled the architectural planning, structural design, engineering coordination and construction execution. At the time of this video, the grey structure has been completed and the house has entered the finishing stage. One of the major features of this project is the FULL BASEMENT, which significantly increases the usable covered area of a 1 Kanal plot while also requiring careful planning of structure, waterproofing, ventilation, access, services and retaining walls. In this video, we walk through the project and discuss: • 1 Kanal house planning in DHA Phase 4 Islamabad • Full basement construction • Complete grey structure progress • Current finishing-stage status • Basement access and circulation • Ground-floor planning • First-floor planning • Double-height grand lobby • Window and opening placement • Internal staircase planning • RCC structural system • Architectural and structural coordination • Residential space planning • Site execution and construction quality • Design & Build project management FULL BASEMENT HOUSE A basement should not be treated simply as an additional floor. Its design needs to consider: • Retaining walls • Structural loads • Waterproofing • Drainage • Ventilation • Natural light • Stair access • MEP services • Ceiling heights • Excavation • Soil and groundwater conditions When these elements are coordinated properly, a basement can add highly valuable usable space to a residential project. DOUBLE-HEIGHT GRAND LOBBY Another important architectural feature visible in this project is the double-height lobby. The increased vertical volume creates a stronger sense of scale, improves the spatial experience of the house and gives the interior greater architectural character. However, double-height spaces also require proper coordination of structure, glazing, lighting, ceiling treatment and finishing details. FROM DESIGN TO CONSTRUCTION For a premium house project, architecture, structure and execution should not be treated independently. A coordinated Design & Build approach allows the project team to manage: Architecture → Structural Design → Services Coordination → Grey Structure → Finishing → Final Handover This helps reduce conflicts between drawings and actual construction and allows important decisions to be resolved before they become expensive site problems. This video is especially useful for: • DHA Islamabad homeowners • Clients planning 1 Kanal houses • Clients considering a full basement • Overseas Pakistanis building homes in Pakistan • Premium residential clients • Architects and civil engineers • Developers and property investors • Clients looking for complete Design & Build services At Shelters Engineering Services, we provide: • Architectural Design • Structural Design • MEP Coordination • Interior Design • Grey Structure Construction • Basement Construction • Finishing Works • Project Management • Site Supervision • Complete Design & Build Services For professional house design and construction services in Pakistan: Shelters Engineering Services (Pvt.)
