Thesis:
Logan enjoys word-play, as Thomas’ language center and a lover of rap/poetry as well as word association games, but is annoyed when Patton (or any other side) make any sort of pun or dad-joke as he views it as juvenile.
Criteria:
Negative; Logan shows clear distaste/annoyance with a pun that someone else has made. If Logan is present in a scene where someone makes a pun, but he does not react/we are not shown his reaction, then it does not count for our purposes here
Neutral; Logan accidentally makes a pun. Note that Logan often claims that he never intends to make a pun, but this is untrue, as seen in the Crofter’s musical video and on a few other occasions.
Positive; Logan intentionally partakes in wordplay. Whether or not he regrets saying it afterwards has no bearing on the rating. My personal judgement on whether or not Logan meant to conduct wordplay or not is the deciding factor between this category and the last.
Criteria (cont.):
Puns are word-play, but not all wordplay is puns. Puns are meant to be humorous, while worldplay in general involves structuring phrases with hidden/double meaning. For this experiment, however, we will be measuring Logan’s wordplay regardless of humorous intent. Logan may not make “puns” at times, but he does still engage in wordplay, and when he does so on purpose it will count towards the positive column. (Overplayed example, but wordplay that isn’t exactly a pun would look like Kendrick Lamar’s “Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably a-minor.” I draw this parallel specifically to justify counting Logan’s “diadems are worn on capita” in his own rap.)
