Voices of Boceprot (VOB) Perform Mighty Island

I recently did a reaction on SRZ to VOB. Great metal video from a very young group of Indonesian Muslim girls. They're not 13 anymore. It's 8 years later. No surprise they're even better. And what a pick for a song to cover. Mighty Island is a great song. The song is a satirical look at a resource heavy "mighty island" that lampoons greed, ego, and environmental exploration. This is not VOB's first foray into effecting social change through their music. Voice of Baceprot (VOB), consists of Marsya, Sitti, and Widi. Originally founded to support their school's School Musical Theater extra co - curriculum program, they started with 15 members and performed more shall we say traditional music. Attrition and a change in focus led in time to just the 3 girls. Baceprot means Noisy in the Sundanese Language. Best friends, all 3 are from Garut, in West Java, Indonesia. They were 13 in 2014 when the band was founded. Discovered METAL on their teachers laptop and the rest is history. First single, School Revolution released May 2018. The song was critical of the school system, drew attention from the Department of Education, and with the input of the young ladies helped change the curriculum. Voice of Baceprot songs with social critic lyrics are powerful and do help effect social change. Official name for their style "HIP METAL FUNKY" (It sure is - even incorporates rap occasionally). The girls get around. They've been onstage in Bangkok, England, Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, France, USA, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia (duh), Taiwan, Singapore, and China. Very impressive. This year 2026 V.O.B has 12 years in the music industry, and already have performed in 16 countries Worldwide and on more than 40's international stages.
