Dancing With Angels - A Musical Portrait Of Toon Roos

This is 'Dancing With Angels - A Musical Portrait of Toon Roos', a 37 minute documentary by filmmaker John Twigt on the life and music of saxophonist Toon Roos. It first appeared on DVD as part of the CD/DVD Angel Dance of the Toon Roos Group that was released in 2011 on the label Challenge Jazz. The documentary features an extensive interview with Toon on his music, his inspirations, highlights in his musical career and the making of his album Angel Dance. The Toon Roos Group features drum legend Peter Erskine on drums, Hein van de Geyn on bass, Karel Boehlee on keyboards and Alex Acuna and Eddie Conard on percussion. Peter Erskine and Karel Boehlee are also being interviewed on Toon's music. The documentary has images of Toon in his home environment, in the recording studio and on stage with several line-ups, including the Bird Session with Joe Zawinul. Toon also talks about his European tour with Steely Dan.
