Hi, I’m Huiying (Hway-ying), a 35-year-old mom living in an urban village in Shenzhen, China.
After losing my job, I’m starting over while doing freelance design from home. Today, I want to show you exactly how I survive and take care of my child on a very small budget.
🛒 Today’s Grocery Bill:
• Half a free-range chicken: $2
• Potatoes: $0.20 each
• Greens: $1
• Total daily food cost: under $6
🦷 Free Dental Care:
My child’s school arranged a free dental sealant checkup to prevent cavities. In many countries, this would cost hundreds of dollars, but here it's covered for kids.
Life at 35 isn't easy, especially when starting over. But we find joy in simple meals and taking care of each other.
If you want to see real, honest life in China, please subscribe. 💛
