Hot Start Relay Upgrade for the DeLorean DMC-12 - Installation + Testing

Hot start problems getting you down? Consider this simple upgrade by Dave McKeen. The hot start relay turns on the cold start valve after one second of engine cranking (starter running). If you keep cranking the cold start valve will be turned on for four seconds and then shut off. So don’t crank your engine for much more than 5 seconds. If you stop cranking then the hot start relay resets and will turn the cold start valve on again after one second of cranking. The hot start relay plugs into the relay socket at the far back in the relay/fuse compartment. There is a blank socket with three pins which is where it installs. You can leave the thermal time switch connected but your engine might start faster in the summer with it disconnected. It does not mater if the engine is hot or cold for the hot start relay to function. If you have hot start issues, this may be a good solution for you. Combined with the solid-state RPM relay, hot/cold start issues may become a thing of the past...
