The Tree of Life — rooted, majestic, and expansive — emanates from the center of 111’s newest release, World Music (2026). The fourth album from the Los Angeles-based sound creator’s expansive metaphysical discography invokes Eden's primordial landscape and its ancient axis mundi: the vertical bridge between celestial, human, and underworld realms. Within World Music, however, Genesis is reimagined through vibrational frequency, susurration, and cosmic textures. The garden is recomposed as a sonic terrain, where the sounds are so pure they almost feel forbidden, and where the listener's body becomes the threshold through which we enter 111’s firmament: a mythic, healing, and enlightened creative vision.
But World Music begins in shadow. A sonorous dark, tonal wind howls through the first track, Umbra, named for the innermost and darkest region of a shadow, the place from which a total eclipse is experienced. It is a gorgeous, dualistic beginning for a work preoccupied with illumination, whose light slowly radiates and blooms through to the final track, Clarity. But first Orchard; here the music acts like auditory petrichor: where energetic currents touch the body as rain soaks dry earth, releasing something buried and elemental from the soil of the soul. The sounds — subtle, specific, and soft — oscillate between all five senses. 111’s music is so precise and embodied that, if listened to closely enough, one might even taste the Edenic fruit, transforming the listener from witness to active participant in the album’s reimagining of original sin and its steady collision with the present. In World Music, we are before and after The Fall. We are then and now ~
111’s journey through sound is a revelatory transmigration of the self as it remembers the collective; the album is a mountain that we are fortunate to climb. By the end, we are where we began, and we are no longer who we were when we arrived; what remains is clear… 111’s World Music, out now.
