The series follows the life of 17-year-old Jahir Mays, whose life is turned upside down when he and his mother have to leave New York City and move to his mom's hometown of Shiloh Lake, a fictional small town in South Carolina, a place he's very unfamiliar with. Sad about leaving his old life behind, Jahir puts on a strong front for his mom while also trying to prepare for his new so-called life. As he begins to settle in, he's introduced to a boy named Maxwell, whom everyone calls Hotshot. One small interaction will determine how his summer plays out.
