Forets solitaires et sombres/Laissez durer la nuit by Sébastien Le Camus

Soprano: Emily Klassen Theorbo: Benjamin Stein Sound Engineer: Jason LaPrade Soundtrack to Women and Madness You forests, lonely and shadowed where the cool, the silence, and the shade remain despite the day, can you not charm the illness that posseses me? And have you no remedy Against a cruel, unhappy love? Let the night last, impatient dawn. It helps me hide my secret sorrow, And I have not yet shed enough tears. For my sorrow, alas! are there nights too dark? Since my shepherd left this beautiful place, Ah! I cannot endure the sharp glare of day, Leave me then to weep under the cover of shadows As long as I desire his love.
