Come with us as we take a road trip from South Africa into Botswana! 🇧🇼 We crossed the border by car and explored Gaborone, Big Valley Lodge and Crocodile Pools Resort, enjoying beautiful scenery, great food, activities and unforgettable memories. One of the biggest questions when driving into Botswana is: What documents do you need at the border? In this video, we show you what our experience was like and what we were asked to provide. 🛂 Botswana Border Crossing – Documents We Had For our vehicle, we were asked for: ✅ Valid passports ✅ Proof of vehicle insurance ✅ Border letter from the bank — because the vehicle is financed ✅ Copy of the vehicle registration document ✅ Road permit fee – R260 💰 Road permit: We paid R260 at the border. ⏱️ How long did it take? Our border-crossing process was surprisingly quick! The process took less than 15 minutes on our trip, from the South African side through the Botswana entry process. ⚠️ Important: Border requirements and fees can change, and requirements may differ depending on your vehicle ownership/financing situation.
