Hello there! And welcome back to another Cloudkin only run, today I decided to stop trolling and locked in to finally get my Legendary clear on the third board. This one was rough with Cloudkins since I don't have any of the options that counter the Ymir fight so here is what I learned: The Ymir, the Siren, and Guttler the Gutter all have attacks that can damage your pet, you will need to play around that if you plan to get the Selfless bonus (Pets at 100% HP when you clear) by keeping your pet behind them to avoid their frontal cone attacks. For the Ymir and Sahagin fight you are supposed to break the Ymir's shell and then either Stun or Bind it to prevent it from getting another shell, you also need to ignore the Sahagin because if you hit it you get paralyzed, and then interrupt the cast bar when it happens. But as you can see I have neither of those options on my Cloudkin team so I choose to use my Colibri's high damage and the Fang you get after the first fight to Burst the Sahagin down (Your pet does not get paralyzed by the Shock Spikes effect), then slowly beat the Ymir. The Lakhamu will try to target both you and your pet with an attack called "Earth Shaker", you need to win before she gets that cast bar off or Dismiss your pet before that if you really need to keep your pets at 100% for the Selfless bonus. During the Siren fight the Zombie that has a line connecting to you will try to grab you and inflict a damage down on you (Not good) you can either hit it from range and/or tell your pet to finish it off. The Cloudkin borrowed action is still the worst one in my eyes but it did make a lot of mechanics in this board a lot more comfortable to deal with. No special comments for the Cavalier, the Catoblepas, or Guttler to be honest; just hit them really hard. For my strategy I went with the plan of a team of 3 Cloudkin while filling my inventory with both consumable and Gear items to get those bonuses, on top of not failing mechanics and keeping my pets at 100% HP at the end, notice that I allowed my Colibri to take some damage so I could focus on the fights and then used the last Campsite to heal any small chip damage she took, the bonus only cares about your pets being at full HP when you clear, not if they took damage at all during the run. Team Explanation: Colibri: High Strength and great Piercing damage potencies! She was my damage carry for this board and absolutely decimated the Sahagin and the Siren. Vulture: The wind damage was great for the Catoblepas as well as general magic damage for enemies with higher Physical defense. Dodo: I brought this pet to counter the damage and more importantly the Blind in the Lakhamu fight since missing your skills screws up your combo and delays your TP and damage risking the possibility of the Earth Shaker mechanic from happening so the faster I can get out of there the better. And that's about it, so thank you for watching and reading all of this, now I will start theorycrafting and practicing to get the Legendary clear on the First Master's board. Wish me luck, and I will see you around in Eorzea. I do not claim the game assets, in-game tooltips, and icons used in this video.
