Driving The Lassen Volcanic National Park Scenic Highway In California 4K | CA-89 On Lassen Peak Hwy

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another video. Today, we will be driving on all of the nearly 30-mile Lassen Volcanic National Park Highway inside Lassen National Park! Lassen Volcanic National Park is one of the 63 established national parks across the United States. It's located in Northeastern California and is home to one of the largest preservation of volcanic phenomena, only coming after Yellowstone National Park, hence giving the park the title of “California's Yellowstone”. Some of these features include boiling mudpots, a snow-capped volcano, and boiling pools! In this video, we are starting at the Southwest Entrance station where the park's 30-mile scenic stretch of highway begins in Mineral, CA, and continue on this route until the Northwest Entrance at Manzanita Lake in Lassen NP. This section of highway is also sometimes referred to as the "Lassen Peak Hwy" on Google Maps, or "Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway," and is part of state route CA-89. This is because the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway actually begins here inside Lassen National Park and runs all the way up until Oregon at Crater Lake National Park, for a total of nearly 500 miles! Today's route through Lassen NP normally takes about an average of an hour to drive without stops. Additionally, you will also get to see short clips of some of the popular destinations inside Lassen, all in this one video! So, I hope you enjoyed this 4k scenic drive in one of California's least explored national parks in the Cascade Range, and please leave a like and subscribe to AKTheTraveler for more awesome road trips!
