By His Grace by FrequentSuspicion.
Album: Carry It Forward · Track 5 of 12.
I live from the identity God has given me.
The testimony moves from merely surviving mercy to living from it, locating every remaining step in Christ’s work rather than personal rehabilitation.
Recorded in Bermuda Dunes, California.

Published lyrics:
I walked through those doors carrying wounds they couldn't see, carrying twenty-three years of war still living inside of me. I brought my scars, brought my history, brought the parts I couldn't hide, but somewhere in the process they measured my brokenness instead of standing by my side. I wasn't asking for permission to be restored, I wasn't asking for a crown or a place of honor. I was asking for mercy, asking for truth, asking for someone to point me back to You. But voices started speaking louder than grace, and I started wondering if I still belonged in this place.
But my name was never written
By the hands of men.
My hope was never purchased
By their acceptance.
I live by His grace,
Not your permission.
Not by your judgment,
Not by your condition.
You can question my heart.
You can question my past.
But you cannot undo
A love that will last.
I am still chosen.
I am still redeemed.
I am still held
By the hands that rescued me.
I live by His grace,
And not theirs.
I learned forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting the truth, and humility doesn't mean surrendering everything God gave you. I learned peace is not silence, and love is not control, and nobody gets to demand the death of another soul. They saw the moment I walked away, but they never saw the years before. They saw the closing of the door, but never saw the battles behind the door. They measured my faith by how much I could endure, but Jesus never asked me to disappear to prove I was pure. I was never saved by the approval of men, I was saved by the blood that covered my sin.
His grace never abandoned me.
His mercy never failed.
The cross was not a courtroom.
The blood was not a scale.
I don't belong to condemnation.
I don't belong to shame.
I don't belong to every voice
That tried to rename my name.
I belong to Jesus.
I belong to grace.
I belong to the Father
Who never walked away.
I live by His grace,
Not your approval.
Not by your verdict,
Not by your removal.
You can close every door.
You can question my name.
But you cannot erase
What the blood overcame.
I am still chosen.
I am still redeemed.
I am still standing
Because He carried me.
I live by His grace,
And not theirs.
I spent years looking for a voice that would tell me I belonged, but the Father was speaking before the world ever judged. My past is forgiven, my future is His, and I will never confuse human approval with the grace that saved me.
