help us out here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/replace-fa... Stubbins United Reformed Churchyard. Stubbins church was first founded in 1861 when mill owner James Porritt established a Sunday School and preaching room in his mill for those who worked there. A separate church was established the following July before a building was completed for the Sunday School in 1866 and the church in 1867. The church was at the time known as Stubbings Congregational church. Over time Stubbings became Stubbins and in 1972 the Congregational church joined with the English Presbyterian church to form Stubbins United Reformed Church. This church then closed in 1991 after the original church was demolished in 1983 and the Sunday School closed in 1990, being demolished soon after. On the site now of the old church and school is houses, the old church lodge remains as a house on the corner with several houses backing the churchyard having made a section of the churchyard into a garden where people can sit with their loved ones.
