In this video, I am going to share a technique for creating those transparent washy florals that watercolors do so well. I found a long lost painting of mine, and thought it would be wonderful to revisit. I am also sharing some thoughts as I'm painting, about composition - the placement of various elements in different places. Need a little refresher on drawing flowers? Try this simple technique that stuck with me all these years (made so much more sense to my mind)    • Struggle with Drawing Petals? This EASY Tr...   Some elements you may recognize: 1) focus point (flower in the middle is most prominent, and the black center draws your eye in) 2) "S" curve or cascade Used the leaves to create an "S" curve for creating movement 3) Values I used in the leaves to draw the eye through the painting so it doesn't get stuck in one area 4) I used complimentary color (opposite on the color wheel) to create some contrast yet placed it around the painting subtly so as not to compete with the main elements, and still create visual interest.
