Gravfrost - My Heart Bleeds Into Black Abyss (album, 2026) abyssal dungeon doom

For my second feature of Dungeon Synth Sunday this week, it is my great pleasure to present the new album of ‘Abyssal Dungeon Doom’ from Gravfrost. This is a grizzly, grimy distorted dirge of morose transcendence and bleak melancholy, which the mighty Ghoëst, progenitor of the dungeon doom sound, has hailed as ‘A perfection of Gravfrost’s formula. Some of the best Dungeon Doom you will ever hear and will be on my list of best album of the year.’ I can’t argue with that. After the single track Begravelse last July, Gravfrost was laid to rest, to be replaced with the winter synth project Isbre, which produced two immaculately stirring eddies of chilling ambience by the end year. Now the graven energies of the fated abyss have taken form once more, and used their time of dormancy to foment a weighted tone and lumbering rhythm of such exquisite intoxication that no spirit may guard itself from entranced stupor in its presence. Really, the counterpoints between the grinding bass notes and lilting melodies strike such resonant harmonies between each other, the effect is mesmerising, and the time away from this project has been very well spent. A fantastic addition to the captivating micro genre of dungeon doom. The album is available in digital format now. Cassettes will be out soon through Enchanted Silver Records. Shirts are also available, in a very limited quantity, which I can recommend having acquired one myself. All artefacts available from the Gravfrost Bandcamp: https://gravfrost.bandcamp.com/album/...
