BACK ON THE ROAD! Bushfire Prep in WA & The Start of Our 6,500 km Journey Across Australia / EP167

In this episode, we start with an important but often unseen part of life in regional Australia – backburning. In June 2025, we helped John and Lyn on their property with controlled backburning, an essential step to make the land safer ahead of bushfire season. With the help of a bobcat, we worked through the property and gained a deeper appreciation for how much preparation goes into protecting homes and land in fire-prone areas. Fast forward to November 2025, and it’s time for the next big chapter of our journey. After spending time around Perth, we officially begin our trip back to the east coast of Australia – a journey of around 6,500 km over three months. Along the way, we did a farewell tour, with John and Lyn joining for the first 4 nights, and enjoy: – 2 nights at Preston Beach free camp – 2 nights at Wellington Dam free camp – Stunning drone footage of the Wellington Dam mural – A whimsical stop at Gnomesville in the Ferguson Valley This is just the beginning of our eastbound adventure, with many more episodes from the road coming up soon.
