“NOT SO IMPORTANT” REMARK ON RAILWAY UNDERPASS/OVERBRIDGE AT VELSAO EVENT SPARKS UPROAR

Tension flared in Velsao after a Congress leader allegedly termed the long-pending railway underpass/overbridge issue as “not so important” during the GPCC’s “People’s Dandi March” event held in Velsao village on March 12, 2026. The remark triggered strong reactions from locals and members of the Railway Crossing Coordination Committee, who slammed the statement, demanded an apology, and warned that such comments could lead to a serious law and order situation. The committee stated that the railway crossing issue has been a long-standing safety concern for residents and urged leaders to treat the matter with urgency and sensitivity. #Goa #Velsao #DandiMarch #RailwayCrossing #GoaNews #GoaPolitics #PublicSafety #Mormugao
