Rosie Doonan - 'Brother'

This song is about my brother. In later years his life and ours have been altered by addiction and illness. Through the years we’ve seen him change immeasurably and in our own way we’ve mourned the person we once knew. What I do remember about growing up together is how much we loved him. We made drawings for him which he pinned on his wall without fail, we picked his clothes for nights out which he wore without question, he gave us his most prized possessions when we went off to uni and perhaps most importantly for me, he gave us his music! He LOVED music! His taste was eclectic and was blasted out of his bedroom whenever he was home. We three girls still love everything he played and always will. Although he’s still here, I miss him a lot.
