Wolves Won't Enter Moose Territory — Here's What a Bull Moose Actually Does to a Wolf Pack

Wolves Won't Enter Moose Territory — Here's What a Bull Moose Actually Does to a Wolf Pack A wolf pack can chase a moose down in seconds. Killing it is another story. On Isle Royale, wolves have been studied hunting moose for over 60 years — the longest predator-prey study on Earth. The result: wolves succeed only 6% of the time. A healthy bull moose stands 6 feet tall, weighs up to 1,800 pounds, and kicks forward with hooves that can cave in a skull. In Voyageurs National Park, researchers found wolves killed only 3 moose in 12 years, despite hundreds of wolves living right next to them. This is why one of nature's most efficient predators simply walks away from its biggest possible meal. #Wolves #Moose #IsleRoyale #WildlifePredators
