This is most of They Might Be Giants appearance on 'The 8:15 From Manchester', a UK Saturday morning kids TV show, in 1990. The recording is taken from a VHS tape. Sorry, this is all I have from this appearance. The interview is slightly truncated (all that is missing is the band reading out their upcoming tour dates) and only one of the two songs performed is included. The band are miming their performance - that was the standard for mainstream music shows of the time on British TV. Thankfully the practice died out sometime around the mid-nineties. However - something that was NOT common that TMBG had the insight to do was mime to a slightly different mix. You will notice in the solo that the trumpet is turned down and Flansburgh's guitar turned right up. I can only guess that they made this alternative mix in the studio from the original masters for this kind of occasion. Some foresight possibly from Flood's British producer?
