I've been to Nainital three times before, but I've always experienced it like a tourist. This time was completely different because I was exploring Nainital like a local with one of my best friends, Priya, who was born and brought up here. She went to school here, knows the city inside out and took me to some of her favourite cafes, food spots, temples and hidden gems that I probably would never have discovered on my own. I'd heard so much about Neem Karoli Baba and had wanted to visit Kainchi Dham for a long time. So getting the opportunity to finally be there, experience the temple and spend some peaceful time there was genuinely very special for me. We also explored some of the local food and drinks around Kainchi Dham, which made the whole experience even more memorable. SEEING NAINITAL THROUGH A LOCAL'S EYES One of my favourite parts of this trip was getting to see Priya's school, St. Mary's Convent School, Nainital. Coming from a completely different kind of school myself, it was so interesting to see what it was like growing up and going to school in the middle of these beautiful mountains and greenery.
