A massive eviction drive was conducted by the Dhubri district administration in Alamganj Part 7 and Part 9 under Gauripur, Assam. Heavy machinery, including excavators and bulldozers, was deployed under tight police security to clear government land, affecting around 750 families. Emotional scenes unfolded as locals prayed at a local mosque and Mazar before the structures were dismantled. While officials state that the drive was legally executed on encroached forest land following notices, opposition parties have strongly criticized the action.
