Ground Breaking Ceremony for Northern Extension of Nickel Plate Trail in Rochester Indiana

After 11 years of planning, City of Rochester officials secured the funding to bring the Nickel Plate Trail from the south side of Rochester into downtown Rochester to link up with another trail that navigates East and West through Rochester, linking downtown, the local golf course, the Hospital, and the nearby Lake Manitou. This connection will allow more Rochester residents and lakeside visitors greater access to the amenities offered in Rochester without using an automobile. The ground breaking ceremony took place at 9:00 am on Thursday November 7th, 2024.
