In his thirst to become one of RavenClan’s best warriors and future deputy for Anise, Yarrowfang continues to seek out the Bloodpool (this universe's mirror to the Moonpool, and the gateway to the Dark Forest) to get more mentorship and power from Antshade, a Dark Forest spirit and a former deputy of RavenClan. In exchange, he does tasks for her, but gets off-put when the next task she gives him is to injure a leader. Yarrowfang gets the sense that something isn’t quite right, especially after a previous string of attacks on various clans’ leaders in previous moons. However, he tries to ignore the red flags, believing that Antshade had only ever had his best interests in mind. Nettlestar corners Yarrowfang after suspecting the young warrior was speaking to the Dark Forest. Because of information given by another RavenClan warrior, the fact that Nettlestar himself had been to the Bloodpool once to see it for himself, and Nettlestar having known Antshade in life before her death, he has reasons to suspect the Dark Forest is plotting something — and tells Yarrowfang that he’s unknowingly been caught in the middle of it. Nettlestar gives Yarrowfang an ultimatum: help him spy on the Dark Forest when he continues visiting the Bloodpool, or be exiled from RavenClan. Reluctantly, Yarrowfang agrees to be Nettlestar’s double agent. Then a meteor shower happens in the middle of the night as the clans’ ancestors send a prophecy warning the valley of the Dark Forest. StarClan is falling, and Yarrowfang is forced to look up and see exactly what he helped cause. Nettlestar was right. He shouldn’t have trusted Antshade. In the following days, Yarrowfang continues visiting the Bloodpool, doing various tasks for Antshade to get information about the Dark Forest, all while relaying what he learns to Nettlestar. The night after Yarrowfang’s last visit to the Bloodpool, Antshade visits him in his dreams. As promised for his tasks, she grants him more strength. However, Antshade corners Yarrowfang, revealing to him that she’d been watching him this entire time. She knows he’s been double-crossing her by going to Nettlestar, but had waited for him to see reason. She calls him a coward, too spineless to see his ambitions to the end despite all of the resources and time she’d poured into him. Yarrowfang demands Antshade to tell him what the Dark Forest is planning to do to RavenClan, only to lose a fight against her as she pins him down, ripping his soul out of his body into purgatory, and possessing him. On the night of the blood moon, all of the possessed cats in the valley awaken, with Antshade leading the attack against RavenClan while puppeting Yarrowfang’s body. Despite everything, Yarrowfang doesn’t stop fighting Antshade to regain control, because his mistakes aren't worth sacrificing his clan and home for. ◤━━━━━━━━━━━◥ This event happened 3 months ago in roleplay lmao, but I really wanted to get major events in yarrow’s story out in pmv form, even if not everything in the story translates super well haha.
