The Cane Lane is one of the most brutal obstacles American Ninja Warrior ever built — competitors have to grab a hanging cane and move it across two separate tracks, with a gap in between that forces them to hoist both themselves and the cane up and over to the second track before they can even think about finishing it. The first track runs in an S-shape with a stopper built in, and the second track throws angled drops, pegs, or (in later versions) a zig-zag beam at whoever's left standing. It's unforgiving enough that across its run on the show, competitors cleared it only about 35% of the time.
