Voor iedereen die te maken heeft met een Burnout. Tekst: I wake up tired, though I slept all night, like darkness never gave me rest. My legs feel heavy when I try to rise, there’s a weight upon my chest. I want to be the man I used to be, when nothing ever slowed me down. But every step feels like another hill, and I’m too tired to climb it now. I keep telling myself, “Just carry on,” like I have always done before. But somewhere deep inside of me, I know I can’t do anymore. I’m tired… so tired inside, my body’s losing every fight. My mind says go, my heart says try, but something in me asks me why. I don’t want to give up yet, but I’ve got nothing left to prove. Nobody sees how tired I am… when even breathing feels hard to do. They ask me how I’m doing now, I smile and say, “I’m doing fine.” I’ve learned to hide the hardest days behind a joke and tired eyes. How do you tell somebody else the smallest things can feel so hard? That you can miss the person you once were, while knowing he’s not very far. I search for photographs, in memories of better days. When I could carry all the world and still have strength to find my way. I’m tired… so tired inside, my body’s losing every fight. My mind says go, my heart says try, but something in me asks me why. I don’t want to give up yet, but I’ve got nothing left to prove. Nobody sees how tired I am… when even breathing feels hard to do. Maybe I don’t have to be strong today, maybe the world can wait for me. Maybe after all these endless nights, there’s still a morning I will see. Maybe someday I’ll wake again without this weight upon my soul. And somewhere underneath these tired bones, I’ll find the man I used to know. I’m tired… so tired inside, but there’s still something left alive. My mind says, “Give yourself some time, you don’t have to win each fight.” I don’t have to prove today that I’m as strong as yesterday. Sometimes standing still is moving on… and resting doesn’t mean I’ve lost my way. So while the whole world carries on, tonight I’ll let myself stand still. My body’s whispered, “That’s enough…” Maybe now I finally will.
