Ancient Tablet Reveals Who the Anunnaki Were Running From

Who were the Anunnaki running from? Ancient clay tablets discovered at Hattusa reveal a forgotten war among the gods—and the terrifying power that drove an entire generation of ancient deities into the underworld. For decades, popular theories have claimed that the Anunnaki fled a dying planet called Nibiru and traveled to Earth in search of gold. But the surviving Hurrian and Hittite texts tell a very different story. In this documentary, we investigate the ancient Kumarbi Cycle, the Song of Emergence, and the mysterious succession of divine kings who fought for control of heaven. Discover how Alalu fled from Anu, how Kumarbi overthrew the sky god, and how the mighty Storm-god Teshub eventually drove the older generation of gods into the Dark Earth. We explore the extraordinary archaeological evidence behind these stories, from thousands of cuneiform tablets uncovered at Hattusa to the twelve mysterious gods carved into the rocks of Yazılıkaya. We also examine the ancient ritual pit at Urkesh, where offerings were made to the powers believed to dwell beneath the earth. But the mystery goes even deeper. Why do these ancient stories resemble the Greek myths of Kronos, Zeus, and the Titans? What connects the Hurrian Storm-god to the legendary battles of Olympus? And how did an ancient account of gods descending into the underworld become a modern story about extraterrestrials arriving on Earth? Through archaeological discoveries, historical translations, and scholarly research, we trace the remarkable journey of these myths across Mesopotamia, Anatolia, Greece, and Rome. The Anunnaki were not fleeing through space in these ancient texts. They were part of a much older story about gods who lost a war for heaven—and were driven beneath the earth. Join Deep Past as we uncover what the tablets actually say, separate ancient mythology from modern interpretations, and explore one of the most overlooked chapters in the history of the Anunnaki.
