Boscastle & Port Isaac After a rather restless night's sleep — the bed was just a little too soft for us — and a slow morning spent by the pool, we decided it was time to head out and explore Boscastle and Port Isaac. And I can honestly say, I would highly recommend both. Boscastle sits nestled deep within a beautiful valley, with a peaceful river winding its way through the village towards the sea. There is something wonderfully tranquil about the place, and it feels almost tucked away from the rest of the world. We stopped for a coffee and a glass of wine at The Cobweb Inn, a wonderfully old and characterful English pub — exactly how an old English pub should be. Just remember to watch your head as you walk in! The low ceilings are covered with old jugs hanging overhead, adding even more charm and history to the place. From Boscastle, we drove through Tintagel, along what felt like an endless collection of narrow Cornish lanes and single-track roads, before eventually arriving in Port Isaac — perhaps best known as the filming location for Doc Martin. If you're looking for a historic Cornish fishing harbour, Port Isaac has everything you could wish for. In places, it almost doesn't feel real; it looks more like a film set than a village. Whitewashed cottages tumble down towards the harbour, connected by tiny winding alleyways and narrow streets that seem to invite you to explore just a little further. We thoroughly enjoyed simply strolling through those little alleyways, wondering how old some of the houses must be and imagining all the lives that have passed through them over the years. If only those walls could talk. Down by the harbour, we even discovered a tiny fish market. And when I say tiny, I really do mean tiny! There was just one stall open, selling the day's fresh catch — everything from lobsters to oysters, right beside the water. Sometimes the most memorable places are the ones where you don't need to do very much at all. You simply wander, look around, take in the atmosphere and enjoy being there. Boscastle and Port Isaac gave us exactly that. Two very different little Cornish villages, each with its own character and charm, and both absolutely worth the drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would happily recommend adding Boscastle and Port Isaac to your Cornwall itinerary. ❤️ ----------------------------------------------- We stayed: www.landal.co.uk Pub in Boscastle: https://cobweb-boscastle.co.uk/ -------------------------------- #cornish #cornwall #kernow #cornwalllife #lovecornwall #cornishcoast #cornwallcoast #cornwalluk #sea #visitcornwall #cornishlife #beach #cornwallliving #kernowfornia #newquay #walkingcornwall #photography #coast #explorecornwall #stives #uk #nature #love #england #kernowlife #devon #falmouth #truro #sunset #ocean
