In this CATIA V5 tutorial, we begin the development of a Height-Adjustable Roller Jack designed to support and position cylindrical workpieces. This project demonstrates how CATIA's parametric design capabilities can be used to create robust mechanical assemblies while maintaining design intent and flexibility throughout the modeling process. The first stage of the assembly focuses on the core structural and adjustment components that form the foundation of the roller jack mechanism. Through feature-based modeling and the application of assembly constraints, the components are accurately positioned to establish the primary load-bearing and height-adjustment functionality. Topics covered in this video: • Creating the Roller Jack Body and mounting flange • Modeling the threaded jack shaft and adjustment system • Designing the handle assembly for manual operation • Incorporating thrust bearing components for load transfer • Applying assembly constraints and positioning techniques • Establishing parametric relationships and design intent • Verifying component alignment and fitment within CATIA V5 By leveraging CATIA's advanced parametric modeling and assembly tools, engineers and designers can efficiently create precise mechanical systems while maintaining flexibility for future modifications and design improvements.
