End of the Alco's on the LA&L and B&H Volume 1

June 1, 2026 - Day 1 of Alco chasing The end of the Alco fleet for the LA&L family of railroads is near, with grant money for replacement motive power requiring the current fleet to be retired, some permanently disabled. I was able to take a few days to cover these lines before Alco power is purged for good. Starting with the B&H out of Coopers Plains, we chase it until a fallen tree with no MOW forces nearby cuts the day short. Off to chase the afternoon LA&L road train... made a few good friends along the way 0:00 - B&H Coopers Plains - Painted Post 4:57 - Smith Hill Rd over the Cohocton River 7:13 - Campbell, Grove St 9:20 - Light engine west Babcock Hollow Rd. A tree would fall ahead of them and they'd return east to Savona 9:53 - eastbound Eagle Valley Rd 11:35 Smith Hill Rd 14:24 - Robert Dann Dr "Post" 15:16 - LA&L road train at East River Rd 16:51 - Silvarole Dr and Rt 85 18:34 - East River Rd 21:31 - Scottsville Rd - after CSX interchange headed south 23:02 - Jefferson Rd 24:14 - Lehigh Station Rd 27:28 - East River Rd 32:46 - switching in Avon. They would return to Lakeville in the dark. This premiere will be a double feature just ahead of trtr's release of the Whiting branch.
