Mister Punch - Roy Chilton - 20/22 ✔️ The opening had a good sense of drive and energy really grasping the style and groove of the music. Tone quality in the upper register was not fully assured and not all of the triplet figures were evenly played. However overall this was a confident performance with excellent moments of light and shade. Fluency and Accuracy: 6/7 Technical Facility : 6/7 Communication & Interpretation: 8/8 2. Overlap -Roy Chilton -18/22 ✔️ This is a fantastic but very difficult piece and not all of its technical challenges were fully met and intonation was an issue in some of the upper register and some of the chording. There was though still a great deal of effective and attractive music making to enjoy with an excellent ending on show. Fluency and Accuracy: 6/7 Technical Facility : 5/7 Communication & Interpretation: 7/8 3. Solo No. 2 - Lucky Elden - 22/22✔️ This was an absolute joy to listen to from start to finish with all of the nuances of colour. texture and moods being clearly portrayed. Well done ! Fluency and Accuracy: 7/7 Technical Facility : 7/7 Communication & Interpretation: 8/8 Technical Work: 14/14 ✔️ The tests were played with fluency and yet an even touch/ tempo throughout showing both good preparation and technical assurance. Performance Delivery and Focus: 9/10✔️ On the whole there was smooth transition between the pieces and an even focus. Musical Awareness: 9/10 ✔️ Overall there was a convincing level of personal commitment shown to and understanding of the programme of pieces played.
