As part of commitment towards enhancing ease of compliance and streamlining processes, the Income Tax Department has introduced simplified Forms under the Income Tax Rules, 2026, effective from 01.04.2026.
This episode focuses on two important Forms:
• Form No. 60 – Declaration to be filed by persons not possessing PAN for specified transactions
• Form No. 61 – Statement to be filed by reporting entities for reporting such declarations
Key highlights covered in this video:
• Objective behind simplification of Forms under Income Tax Rules, 2026
• Restriction of non-PAN facility to limited transactions
• Transactions where PAN is now mandatory
• Filing process, periodicity, and due dates
• Integration with KYC/PMLA framework to avoid duplication
• Significant reduction (80–85%) in non-PAN declarations
• Key benefits for declarants and reporting entities
The re-engineered Forms aim to reduce compliance burden, eliminate duplication, improve data quality, and promote a more efficient and transparent tax ecosystem aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
