When does money in a Thai relationship become a red flag? And what are the cultural differences between Thailand and the west when it comes to giving money to your Thai girlfriend?
In this video, I look at dating Thai women from three different stages of a relationship: who pays when you first start dating, what happens with money and family support when a relationship becomes serious, and finally the Thai tradition of sin sod if you decide to get married.
I also share some of my own experiences from more than 30 years of living and dating in Asia, including Thailand and Japan.
If you've dated or married someone in Thailand, I'd particularly like to hear your experience with family support and sin sod in the comments.
