The future ACCA Qualification will be organised into three main levels: • Knowledge • Expertise • Strategic Professional Students beginning at the Knowledge level will complete three Knowledge exams, five Expertise exams and three Strategic Professional exams. This creates an 11-exam pathway, compared with the current 13-exam structure. However, students will also complete mandatory Employability Modules focused on practical, professional and workplace skills. NEW ACCA 2027 EXAM STRUCTURE KNOWLEDGE LEVEL • K1 Financial Accounting • K2 Management Accounting • K3 Business Law Students will also complete the Responsible Business Management Employability Module. EXPERTISE LEVEL • E1 Taxation • E2 Financial Reporting • E3 Audit, Risk and Control • E4 Finance and Investment • E5 Performance with Data Analysis This level also includes the Digital Tech and Innovation Employability Module. STRATEGIC PROFESSIONAL LEVEL Core exams: • S1 Business and Sustainability Reporting • S2 Strategic Business Leader Students will then select one professional option from: • Audit and Assurance Professional • Corporate Finance Professional • Data Science Professional • Performance and Insights Professional • Taxation Advisory Professional The redesigned qualification introduces Data Science Professional as a new option and places greater emphasis on AI, technology, sustainability and employability. WHAT HAPPENS TO CURRENT ACCA STUDENTS? Current students do not need to restart their ACCA journey. ACCA’s transition rules will recognise completed equivalent exams and modules. Students will receive credit for relevant progress already made before moving into the redesigned structure. You should continue studying rather than delaying your examinations solely because the qualification is changing. Use ACCA’s official transition guidance to understand how your completed and expected passes map to the new structure. WHEN WILL THE ACCA CHANGES BEGIN? The redesigned Foundations and Knowledge exams are scheduled to begin from July 2027. The Expertise and Strategic Professional exams are scheduled to begin from September 2027.
