I followed an entrepreneur in Ghana to find the recipe for success 🇬🇭

What is it really like to start a business in Ghana, become an entrepreneur in Ghana and build a new life in Africa? 🇬🇭 In this video, I follow a Ghanaian entrepreneur in Accra, Ghana for a day to discover her recipe for success and what it really takes to start and grow a business in Ghana, create opportunities, overcome challenges and turn an idea into something real. After spending many years living abroad, including in the UK, Ama decided to move back to Ghana. Like many Ghanaians living in the UK, USA, Canada, Europe and across the Ghanaian diaspora, she had experienced life overseas, but eventually made the decision to return home and build something of her own. Today, Ama is an entrepreneur in Ghana, building businesses including Elevé Chauffeur Service, a private chauffeur company in Accra with an all female team of drivers, while also working with Papa Mango, a Ghanaian dried fruit business producing naturally dried mango and pineapple, with much more exciting to come! I wanted to understand what entrepreneurship in Ghana actually looks like behind the scenes, so I spent the day following Ama around Accra, talking about business, opportunities, taking risks and the experiences that shaped the way she approaches entrepreneurship today. But this story is about much more than starting a business. It’s about moving abroad and starting again. It’s about returning to Ghana after living overseas. It’s about having an idea and actually doing something with it. It’s about taking risks, hearing “no” and coming back the next day. It’s about leaving your comfort zone and trying to build the life you actually want.
