400m Offshore Balloon Deadbait - Big Catch in São Miguel, Azores

This summer, we set out to catch something big from the shore. Using a balloon, we managed to send a dead bait over 400 meters offshore. Out there, anything is possible—tuna, mahi-mahi, sharks, wahoo, amberjack, and more. It was our first time trying this method, and we had the perfect wind conditions to carry the bait out that far. Then, we got a massive strike from a hammerhead shark. Ruben wanted to land the shark for its delicious meat, but our gaff was too weak to penetrate its tough skin.
