THIS WAS JONGHYUN’S SOLO DEBUT?! BASE | First Reaction

We’re going all the way back to JONGHYUN’s first mini album, BASE. I’ve been spending more time with his catalog, so I wanted to hear where his solo work began. Huge shout-out to the requester for this one. Come hang for all seven tracks, including the “Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)” MV. “Deja-Boo” with Zion.T gets things moving right away. I was already getting chills reading the message on the album cover before pressing play, and that groove was a whole mood once the song kicked in. “Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)” with IRON brings a darker energy. Going from the bounce of “Deja-Boo” straight into that MV made the opening two tracks feel like a statement. “Hallelujah” was the one I kept calling a masterpiece. The lyrics got me, and that vocal performance was an absolute powerhouse. “Love Belt” with Younha felt like sunshine after that. There’s something so soothing about the way their voices come together. I could run that duet back over and over. “NEON” left me trying to keep up with everything happening in the instrumental while JONGHYUN kept taking his vocals in different directions. I needed a second after that one. “MONO-Drama” hit me in a different way. I was already caught up in his delivery, and then I felt myself starting to tear up mid-song. “Beautiful Tonight” was such a warm way to close it out. After everything the EP took me through, that bonus track felt like getting to sit with his voice for a little longer. The more I hear from JONGHYUN, the more I appreciate how much he could do with a song. Let me know which moment on BASE still gets you every time. ⏱️ Chapters 0:00 Intro 0:35 Deja-Boo 4:44 Crazy (Guilty Pleasure) 9:09 Hallelujah 13:57 Love Belt 18:14 NEON 23:16 MONO-Drama 28:16 Beautiful Tonight 32:54 Final Thoughts 🎯 Want to Request a Track?
